Oh smeg, I am totally exhausted.

It's been a very hectic last 24 hours with all sorts of things going on, and hence I wish I could sleep in past 8 am tomorrow morning. Wednesday it was Illara's birthday, so I called her up to wish her happy birthday and so on, and we had a good chat and I put a serious hole in my phone card, oh well.
Then I had a misunderstanding with another friend (my fault), and we were emailing back and forth to clear things up. It's amazing where you can get to if you explain how you feel honestly and clearly, obviously something I should do more of. Thankfully we know each others minds better now, and I can worry less about screwing up our friendship. She's very cool, and I'd like to get to know her much better. I also got her belated Xmas present, and oh my god, it was so incredibly cool. A Gamera money-box! I don't know where the hell she found it, but it was fantastic. Now I have the Guardian of the Galaxy, Friend to all Children protecting my loose change.
More friends cropped up, with a phone call late this afternoon from Red who had just gotten back into town. She is going to drop around to Civic tomorrow and hopefully she'll give me a call and we'll do drinks.

Tomorrow is zapping time, my fourth and possibly last appointment. I'm still getting re-growth, but it will be very interesting to track after this treatment. I'm going to be pretty festy with my frizzy hair, lobster facial burn, bushy eyebrows and relatively hairy arms. The last two aren't too bad, but I'm going to get them waxed anyway. Next Friday a visiting professor arrives to work in our lab, and I want to make a good impression. I'm still searching for some nice skirts, but continue to be thwarted in my plans. I'm hoping to wear a skirt at least once before this summer is out. Speaking of the lab, yesterday I was doing more tables (easy way to boost the page count) and today lots of electrochemistry which gave the usual unexpected results. Certainly, they may be interesting, but at this point in my Ph.D., I don't have enough time for unexpected yet novel results, I need results which adhere to the theory and literature so I can move onto the next section.

Tonight for no particular reason we had dinner at this Chinese place. It happened to be the place where the honours student works part time and we had a good time. I ate way too much, but it was good and fun. Because it's pretty laid back she (the honours student) was chatting away to us (she was waitressing), and since we were just hanging about after finishing the meal, she brought out a big bucket of dishes which needed drying and the guys did the drying at the table in the restaurant! It was pretty hilarious. I walked backed to the lab, and though I wanted to send emails, I was exhausted.
Ok, wow that bed looks so comfy… where have you been my lovely pillows…
