Hold me now, oh hold me now
Till this hour has gone around
And I'm gone on the rising sun
For to face Van Diemen's land.

Ack, oh dear, it's a utterly quiet Friday night and whilst I still have the option of going to see "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", I'm sick of going to the movies by myself. I did that a few times last year and I always felt rather conscious of my single status. Movies and Roller-blading are such "couple sports" while bicycling and diary writing have the smell of single person's stuff. I'm sure I'd write less if I was in a relationship which means I can expect to see this diary keep going strong for the foreseeable future.

Today I caught up with Red for a hour or more, and we had a really good catch-up. She had been up in Sydney with her girl-friend, so it was to see her again. She is beginning the job hunt, and so picked up a whole bunch of business type clothes from a factory-outlet in Sydney, and so for that and visiting reasons I might try to get up there sometime.

This afternoon I went for my zapping and it wasn't too bad. The first one is the worst because it's the reminder of what I have to put up with for the next 45 minutes. However, there was definitely less "crackling" (hair exploding at the follicle) than before, so that is a good sign. It also gets cheaper now if I need subsequent shots, but I have to wait 8 weeks to make an assessment of the situation then.

Today I worked on some thesis stuff, numbering compounds for each of the 4 experimental chapters (+ 1 introductory chapter). It looks like I'll end up with about +70 compounds which is very unusual. An ordinary synthetic thesis might have say 50 or so, but I've also done optical investigations as well, so the thesis will be large, +300 pages I'm guessing.
