It's important to remember, first pillage, THEN burn…

Is it hack and slash, or slash and burn? What about hack and burn? Basically that's what I've being doing to my web-site. I chopped out my bio, my hormones page, entries in my guest book, old TG related stuff which was no longer linked to the new front page and a big bunch of old (and very crappy) photos. A friend put up a password protection on her site because of some abuse, so I guess I figured it was about time to start sanitizing. As I said to Peta on the weekend, "deep stealth isn't really an option when you're built like me" but I can minimize potential collateral damage. I imagine that eventually I'll bid farewell to my old West Hollywood page (i.e. Queer cyber-ghetto) and probably get my own URL to fiddle with when I have more time.
Uh… I'll finish this later…

No rest for the busy…

The damage I inflicted on my site last night I have repaired somewhat. The number of new visitors is so incredibly low that I doubt I will have inconvenienced anyone in so short a time period. I redid my bio page, just talking about who I am, where I live, what I do and so on and found a standard copyright and liability disclaimer off the net and posted that to protect (in theory at least) my work, specifically my diary entries. One friend seemed to infer that I was "disappearing", so I reassured her that I was simply modifying my web-presence. I don't really want complete strangers to easily get all my old details, they'll have to trawl through my old diary entries to do that, and that's punishment enough. ;)

Today was steamy, with a thunderstorm building all afternoon. At 5:30 pm or so, it snapped and in seconds there was the most incredible downpour. I could scarcely see the Engineering building only 30 meters away through the driving rain. I just love acts of nature like that. Earlier I helped Aveline (Sexuality Officer for ANU) get some stuff ready for the Sexuality Department stall for next Wednesday. It will be Clubs and Societies day, so that is when we recruit our members for the year into the social club.

Tonight there is a low key "party" for one of the Russian guys who is leaving. I have to admit I'm not all that sorry, because apart from splashing water everywhere when he shaves, he has (to put this in the nicest possible way) a slight body odor problem. It is a combination of boi-smell multiplied to a terrifying degree and makes it impossible to use the bathroom for 10-15 minutes after him, and this is from a chemistry girl who's worked with very odorous phosphine and sulfur compounds. Apart from that he is fairly nice.
