Today was spent rushing around the place as usual. I had to get over to the lab to work up a reaction before archery began, either way waking up at 7:45 am was a good start. Archery was quiet but good and Emma called around midday to offer a lift down to DX armouring. No-one was awake when we first got there, so we did a bit training in the backyard and then eventually got busy with all the loose ends we have to fix up. The buckles for my breast and back plate were attached and much of the afternoon was spent fiddling with that. Also cutting leather, avoiding the many distractions and trying to do several jobs at once. I did some work on my half-gauntlet, however I never got time to cut the straps for my elbows (which would have been quick) though I did cut the leather for my kidney belt late in the day before I armoured up and did some quarter speed training. My back-plate was pinching, but turning out the bottom edge was a big improvement.
I left about 5:30 and got into Civic just after dark. There was an Aids Vigil ceremony that night which Jenni was singing at as part of the GLBT Choir (known as the Quwire). I thought about going, but I didn't want to have to wait around in the Canberra cold with a bag full of armour for an hour and a half.
Tomorrow if the motivation keeps up I will bus it down to Kambah to pick up some essential archery stuff. I'm happy using the skanky old College arrows, but I can't do without a nocking-point and an arrow-rest. I had wanted to go Saturday, but Mum was arriving as the shop was about to close.
As you can see, I'll just talk crap about my day. Move along! Please disperse! Nothing to see here.
