So, I'm like drunk, feeling sexy and dancing around to "Blue Danube"…

Actually I tell a lie, now I'm bouncing around to the "Hallelujah Chorus". Still, I do feel sexy and attractive, alas no one here to take advantage of me. ;) Well, not just yet… But still, I like being tipsy and smiley, it's nice, just a pleasant level of tipsiness.

Certainly this is just yet another level to a very varied day. Today was the feast day of St Aldhelm, the patron saint of the ANU SCA college, so the college rocked down to the bar in the evening to celebrate, hold the AGM and eat fluorescent cake provided by Ruth. Ruth, Chrissy, Emma and I played pool and then we headed over to Jackson's in the city to continue the festivities. Kate came also and we sat around and chatted which was really nice though the whole thing was unexpected. I sat somewhat entranced through a whole bunch of music videos from 1988 which caused some flashbacks to high school. "Ride on time", "You can't touch this", "Hey Mickey", "Funky cold medina", "Bust a move" and a whole lot more which was quite strange because of my associating them with being in Year 8. After the Karaoke came on, Chrissy sang "Mustang Sally" which was cool and I got temporarily animated for Gloria Gaynor's (sp?) "I will survive". But I was pretty tired so we came home a little while ago, though it was a very nice night out.

Tomorrow (or today I guess) Peta is driving me down to the archery shop (again), I'm meeting the young CD again at 2 pm and I've got a hair appointment at 3:15 pm. Sunday I have archery and then I'm catching a bus at 4:30 pm to Sydney. Basically I'm going to Sydney to complete some unfinished business, the name change. I'm close enough to the end of my studies and far enough along my transition that I feel it is the right time to finish this. A gradual transition is what suited me best, and I accept the few small inconveniences like this, because overall it worked for me (your mileage may vary). I'm not going to put my full name here (who knows what future search engine might turn it up), but I'm happy and content with it, and that's what counts.
