I went into town to drop off my film and get some more pills and then I came home and slept for about 3 hours. After that desperately needed catch-up nap, I went back into town about 2 pm. I bought groceries and picked up the photos and was heading back towards Uni when I bumped into Jenni. She was heading back to a role-playing group and so I tagged along. I wasn't really sure what was going on, but before you could say "free-form" I was in the new game.
After some initial confusion as to what was going on, I found that I was playing one of the characters in a motley group of monsters and their summoning mage who operate out of a club in Soho, London. I was the Frankenstein-style monster "Eve" who was the bar-tender and who liked to hang out in London cemeteries collecting body parts from all-to-curious "baby-Goths". Some of the other characters included a djinn who liked to listen out for ill-timed wishes, a ditzy fairy, a demon, a bogeyman named Fred and a few others.
We had to steal a book from the Tower of London to open a gate to Hell (4th sub-level) so that the mage could get revenge on his ex-girlfriend. After negotiating a badly worded wish which turned us into terrorists intent on stealing the crown jewels and then a rather unpleasant demon in the sewers of London, we made it to the portal in an up-market hotel. A few of us decided discretion was the better part of valour, but another wish meant we re-entered the penthouse through the roof, still in our get-away Mercedes. After battling our mage's rather unpleasant ex-girlfriend and her collection of fire-demons and then preventing her from summoning an elder-god, a curious set of appearances of a Valkyrie, discovering my demon-boyfriend had set up residence in my soul after his untimely death and the summoning of snow-demons from an ice-bucket we finally defeated her.
It was quite a fun time and there were lots of laughs. I came home afterwards and was glad to have had something to do on a Saturday night.
