My diary used to be interesting I know, now it's generally a rather drab assemblage of my day-to-day dealings. I hope that the regular readers (mostly friends, possibly some enemies) will stick with me through the long-trying time of thesis writing, and perhaps stay tuned for my eventual foray to the US where I imagine my writings will become considerably more interesting.
Anyway, back to the day-to-day dealings…
Sunday was rather windy which didn't help at archery. I hadn't been in some time and so was glad to be able to get back into it. In the afternoon I went down for armouring, and found that we were going to go full-speed for the first time. We managed to patch together a full-set of armour since all I needed was leg-armour and a helm. To say I was scared was a massive understatement. There is a part of the human subconscious which causes one to try and avoid being in situations where you may be hurt and it was operating at full potential.
All-in-all it wasn't too bad thankfully, the hits to the helm I received shook me up but didn't hurt. The main problem was that the armour was too tight and I had trouble breathing but that is something I can fix. I was sweating and shaking when I finally armoured down and the adrenaline was pumping, but I had an Ok first time. The exertion of fighting and cycling hopefully makes up for my unfortunately inert life-style.
Today (Monday) my supervisor dumped the final versions of Chapters 2 and 3 on my desk for correction. I also finished the OMNO-Gold paper and am trying to get back to working on Chapter 1. I even managed to squeeze in coffee with Peta (B) between 4 and 5 pm and we had nice relaxing chats. I only have a few more days before I head up to Sydney to meet Allison.
