Minor panic attack in progress, please stand clear…

I've got about 6 weeks until I probably start this job in Miami and about 5 weeks till my supervisor leaves and hence the same length of time for me to submit my thesis. I haven't got my thesis finished (another 35 pages or so I guess), I haven't put my passport application in and I haven't applied for my MasterCard. I have a list of things to do as long as my arm this weekend, and Allison gets back from Sydney this Friday.
On another note, this will be diary entry # 495 in just over 3 years of writing.
More latter…

Poke-zilla - Picachu's revenge on Tokyo.

I've not entirely able to explain the fascination that Asian (particularly Japanese) girls have with "cute" stuff. I realize that this is necessarily a generalization, but I (IMHO) believe it is true to at least some extent. When I was in Sydney recently I discovered a shop entirely dedicated to such stuff. I live in curious times…

This morning I checked my email and got the strongest non-conformation yet of acceptance at Miami, I simply need to ensure that the other two referees get their references in ASAP. Given the windy and miserable day here today, I can't wait to get there… that is until the weather there hits 30° and the humidity 90%.

Allison got back from Sydney on Friday afternoon, so it was nice to have her back again. On Saturday I missed the "Shounen Ai" anime showing and went to mixed combat training instead. I have some nice bruises around my kidney to show for that, though it was rather fun. On Saturday night we went around to Emma's place for dinner with her and Chrissy and stayed chatting away until 1:30 am. We walked home and got into bed about 2:30 am.
Today we spent much of the morning lying in a sun-beam and staring out at the clouds rushing by and then we went into town to try and find the "Lonely Planet" guide to Miami. Allison was feeling a bit sick, so we bought a whole bunch of groceries to tide us over and came home.
