Well, things are getting back to the way they were I guess. I went up to Sydney on the Friday afternoon bus and spent the evening with Allison. The next day we did the final tour of the sights of Sydney and went and had lunch in the revolving restaurant in the Centerpoint Tower (big Sydney landmark, very high). We just barely packed all her stuff into her suitcase and caught the bus to the airport where we checked her luggage in. It was a hard parting, tears and sadness, but eternal optimist I am, I look forward to a hopeful and happy future.
Tomorrow will be back to work as usual, no word from Miami yet, so I continue to stew. I just chatted to Mum and Dad and did the usual Sunday night phone dance, staying on polite non-controversial topics like the weather and what I've been up to, and never mentioning my "disability" or how my love is now overseas and how I miss her, or how us kids never talk to one another. It's sad in a way that our phone conversations have been reduced to this, but I know it's better than not talking at all.
