Just like everyone else, I enjoy a good meal. Here I'd like to
place some of my favorite things to eat. The main things I look
for in good food is "Great Quality Ingredients" and "Diversity in
Ingredients"
I will start with one of my favorites.
The "Turkey Sandwich". When Thanksgiving comes, I just love a unique
version of this meal item. What makes it unique is it's secondary
ingreadiant. Cranberry. It works! believe me! especially if you get good
Cranberry sauce. Just "don't drink milk with it"! I like White Zinfindel:).
If you like, just add a small amount. Also you have to add a good quality
Cream Cheese. Once you have these three key ingrediants you have mainly
what I'm talking about.
How I make Mine
Start with the bread, White Bread is good. I like to use Dinner
rolls, they are small. I also get same day baked French Bread, this
is very good (sliced thin). The best though is an Onion Roll. It make's
a great difference. I put mayonnaise on both sides. Also I use good
mayonnaise (Best Foods, others don't compare). Next I add the Cream Cheese,
I try to slice it with a narrow thin knife to avoid globbing :). Usually
it ends up as pieces of cheese with spaces in-between. Then I add thinly
sliced jellied Cranberry Sauce. And then Finally the Turkey. Just about
any good Turkey will do. Roasted Turkey is excellent. I like to barbeque
Turkey whenever I get the chance. I do this in a oven style Barbeque. I like
to use solid Mesquite Charcoal. I place the embers around the perimeter
of the Turkey so as not to burn it. I check and regulate the heat according to the
sound. Yes, sound. I listen for what I would call a nice gentle crakle sound. My best
ones have been cooked at a low heat. For a longer period of time. An insertable
thermometar will aid in determining when it is finished. Also the legs should wiggle
freely when done. I add alot of fresh garlic also.
