The project Q library is a catalogue of books currently available for borrowing. It is by no means an exhaustive list of queer related reading material available in Singapore.
These books (and more) are also available in Borders' Gender Studies section(next to the History section, and in the same aisle as the Politics section), or Kinokuniya Takashimaya's Gender Studies section (on the same block as Social Studies) or Alternative Fiction section. You can usually also find some of the more established Fiction authors (e.g.: Edmund White, Jean Genet) in Fiction or Literature sections of other bookstores, including MPH and Times.
To borrow a book, send an email to projectq@hotmail.com with the title and author of the book you wish to take out. As a precautionary measure, please also include in the email a land-line phone number (ie: not a handphone or pager) and name so we can contact you. A meeting will be arranged to hand over the book. By request, a book can be handed over in an opaque plastic bag.
If you can, we would prefer for you to buy or order these books from Amazon, Borders or Kinokuniya rather than take them out of the library, which is intended primarily for those coming out who cannot afford to buy or have no place to safely store queer-related books.
Please also remember that this is a volunteer-based library, and that all books are personally owned, and donated for others to read and return. Do keep books in good condition and return them intact.
