Costumes Porfolio
Here's a small sample of some of the costumes that I've created and put together. And if you would like to see some of the Make-Up projects that I've had click here.
You don't really see the design of this dress but it's a 1930's dress that I drafted the pattern for, cut and built in less than 24 hours.
These costumes were created in a week and a half. I had not yet done full body costumes yet but it was crash test time. HereI was was making two. One for the Cheshire Cat and the other for the Caterpilar. I also had to make the March Hare and the Dor Mouse. There was a Madd Hatters Hat that I had also made but I rejected it at the last minute when we found an oversized Uncle Sam hat and I covered that in green velour and we were set. |

These were supposed to be two sea creatures that were mutating into humans. I would have liked to have gone further with these costumes but the director didn't.
While I wish I could say I loved this jacket, I really don't but I did design and make it out of fake snake skin leather. It was real leather with a snake print and design embossed onto it. The jacket looked a little too 80's to me. It was supposed to look like a 50's jacket.
These costumes were rented but I just loved the look of this scene from Madam Butterfly. Oh, and I made the facial hair
These are the only two costumes that I actually made from the ground up for the European Tour of 42nd Street. The rest of the costumes were pulled from a previous production of the show in Sweden. So you won't be seeing those pictures here. |
This dress was made
especially for the
Gay Pride 2001 Parade for Essalla Boutme
This Peter Pan doesn't seem to have any happy thoughts but I do - knowing that I made the outfit. This was one of the more fun costumes that I've had to make for a show. Imagine the looks of people when I was asking if they carried any acorn shaped buttons... |
While I didn't build this dress, I used it in a show that I designed, "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" and was just in love with both the actress and the dress. You can't really see them in this photo but the white Go-Go Boots were also a favourite of the show and of mine.
For the show "Curse of the Starving Class" it was necessary to create two 4H Club uniforms. One looking brand new and the other looking "as if drag through the mud"
This is the very first costume that I ever made. I won the Rookie of the Year award at the Fullerton Fashion show, as well as, the Golden Needle Award from the Fullerton College Theatre Department. I still have this costume and have used it in a couple of shows as well as for Halloween events.
