The American Film Institute
Asian Academy of Film & Television: Stationed in India, this academy offers short and comprehensive courses on the production and direction of TV and Film. It also offers Master Diplome in Visual Communications.
Australian Film Television and Radio School: Courses are given in scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, producing, editing, design, sound, screen studies and radio. It also caters for digital media, documentary, drama and television. A very comprehensive course for those who wants to have a full understanding of film studies and will be able to find appropriate department for one's major interests.
Britain's National Film & Television School: It offers full-time MA courses in 10 specialisations and a wide range of short courses for freelancers.
Brooks Institute of Photography: Brooks Institute of Photography offers both degree and diploma courses for photographers and/or people who are interested in filmmaking. It also touches visual journalism and visual communications. It is very diverse in the courses it offers, as the name suggests, I would think its main strenght lies in photography.
Boston University -- The Film and Broadcasting Program
California Institute of the Arts -- School of Film/Video: The School of Film/Video offers programs in the areas of live-action film and video, animation, directing and multimedia. Undergraduate programs lead to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree and graduate programs to a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. School of Film/Video students also take advantage of numerous elective courses throughout CalArts-in the schools of Art, Critical Studies, Dance, Music and Theater.
Capilano College Film Studies: The Media Technology Division at Capilano College offers a full-time day program in Professional Film Studies. The Continuing Education department offers a variety of evening and weekend courses in Film Studies.
Chapman University -- School of Film and Television: With emphasis on non-linear editing.
The City College of New York -- MFA in Media Arts Production: The Department of Media and Communication Arts offers a two-year graduate program leading to an M.F.A in Media Arts Production. It focuses on independent movies rather than Hollywood type movies, in fiction, documentary and cross-genre work.
Columbia Academy (Vancouver): providing career training in video & television production, animation, digital & analog recording, video post-production, MIDI, multi-media and broadcasting: radio announcing, commercial copywriting, electronic journalism, audio production, TV announcing etc.
Columbia College -- Chicago: Columbia College of Chicago is the largest film school in the United States. It offers a wide variety of courses in filmmaking, visual communications and performing arts, it is not solely a film school per say.

Columbia College --- Chicago: A college that offers courses in visual, performing, media and communication arts. It is the largest film school in the United States. Columbia is an accredited four year college founded in 1890 and besides it also being the nation's largest performance arts school.
Film & Video Department @Columbia: Only graduate programs are offered in this College.

Interactive Film School: The Interactive Filmschool is a distance learning film school based on a set of in-depth interactive CD-ROMS and intensive hands on sessions. It is a project by the internationally renowned filmmaker Rajko Grlic is embarking on a new project in film school education in collaboration with Ohio University.

Melbourne University -- Summer School: The summer school is held in association with the Cinema studies Program at Melbourne University and is taught by Australia's leading film professionals. It offers a lot of short program in summer time. It has courses in every aspect of filmmaking, from scriptwriting to lighting. Not a bad choice for a quick and easy introductory course in movie making.
New York Film Academy: It offers workshops for people with little or no experience in making films. They are designed to arm students with the skills and confidence needed to produce a well-told story with moving images. To fulfill this goal, the workshop concentrates on the elements of visual storytelling which enable the participant to direct his or her own non-synchronous film.
New York University -- Department of Cinema Studies: A comprehensive training in history, criticism and theory of motion picture.
Northwestern University -- Dept. of Radio/TV/Film: The Department of Radio/Television/Film offers undergraduate and graduate education in the history, theory, and production of media. It offers a range of perspectives on media forms from cinema to broadcast television to alternative media to emerging technologies.

Simon Fraser University -- School of Communication Graduate Studies
Standford University -- Communication Documentary Film & Video: The Graduate Program in Documentary Film and Video in Stanford's Department of Communication is designed to teach students the conceptual and practical tools for producing nonfiction film and video. The program emphasizes the development of ideas and the means for effectively communicating them through visual media.
Ohio University -- School of Film
Queen's University -- Department of Film Studies: It offers a comprehensive undergraduate program of practical, historical and critical courses.
University of California, Berekley -- Film Studies
University of Southern California -- School of Cinema-Television
University of Pittsburgh -- Film Studies Program: The Film Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh offers a series of interdisciplinary courses concerning the history, aesthetics, theory, and production of cinema.
The Vancouver Film School: Courses start every two months.
York University -- Department of Film and Video: It offers courses in the creative crafts of cinematography, editing and sound, including state-of-the-art digital techniques, are offered alongside studies in the concepts and practices of screenwriting, directing and producing. Complementing these studio skills is a full roster of courses in the history, theory and criticism of the media, including studies in Canadian, international, documentary, and alternative cinema.
