The "Rave Scene" and its "culture" to me is much more then an excuse to go out all night and morning on a weekend just to be able to do something. There's a lot more to it then just going out and partying. Some people are in the "scene" for the wrong reasons. [depending who you are you may not agree with me] People that are in the "scene" for the sake of just going to have something to do and getting messed on drugs is one example. To me its much more then a trend or fad or just a weekend thing but , more of a type of life style that is a big part of my life.

Chelis NO Trend Quote

The music part of the "Rave Scene" is the main and most important to me. Of course without having the music there would not be a "Rave\Party\Dance - Scene" [or what ever you would want to call it] Wether it be Hardcore-[Gabber] , Trance , Jungle , FunkyBreaks/BreakBeats or some good Old-Skewl Techno. [which are some of my favorite genres] There's nothing like some good base in my face to put a smile on this face. Wether it be groovin , speaker huggin or just going crazy to that BOOM-BOOM fuck-N beat.!

Kevin Sounderson Quote

First time I ever attended a "Rave" I knew I was hooked and that there was something very special that was happening at these partys. There were strangers exchanging smiles , cand-e , and hugs as if they naturaly knew eachother all along. *TRUE UNiTY* Which is something you don't see or experience to often or at all in every day life. That's why I think the "Rave Scene" is unique compared to many other "scenes" out there. Of course every now and then you run into people who do things to try to fuck up the vibe because I guess they got nothing else to do. We can thank bullshit Media coverage and fucked Promoters for bringing in people into the scene who dont know jack-shit about a good vibe.

In my oppinion I think Los Angeles has one of the best "Rave Scenes" in the United States. Its also known to have one of the biggest and also one of the first citys in the U.S. to have a "Rave Scene". [sometimes bigger doesn't always necesarily mean better though] Especialy the fact that L.A. is one of the few citys to even have a HardCore-[Gabber] scene.-[my favorite genre of Techno] Even though some may disagree , I think we have some of the dopest DJ's around. [from Hardcore-[Gabber] , Trance , Jungle , Breaks , etc.] Plus the diversity of the land we have here in L.A. to Rave [we have the hills , beaches , desert and the city] makes it all much better and differant. One thing though I wish the "scene" had more of is GAY people. Way back when GAY clubs were one of the first to be playing out Techno music. Its kinda wack not to see that many take part in the "scene".

Double Hit Mickey Quote

More and more commercialization of our "scene" is occuring thanX to all the Media hype and attention its been getting over the past years. We can even thank people with-in our own "scene" for this. Right now many money hungry corporate fuck labels are taking more interest to see if they can cash in off our "scene". Many people including me want to see the outcome and where all this attention will lead. Will it be a replay of 92/93 where eventualy people won't catch on and the hype will fade away or will we be seeing and listening to more Techno on commercial shit like MTV.? Fuck that.! I think the "UnderGround" should stay UnderGround. We don't need commercialism to fuck up our scene and it fill it with all the bullshit that comes along with it.!
