The test above comes from Yahoo Geocities...
Soooo... If we are to believe this guide, since I'm an aquarius, if you're an Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, or Libra then you're supposed to be a "Hot, Hot, Hot!" match for me, and vice-versa. If you're a Pisces or Sagitarius then the pull could be magnetic enough... Of course, there are many more things that are important for compatibility than astrological sign...
I don't necessarily agree, nor disagree, with this-- though I'm less fiercely independent (and/or less counter-community) than this says.
Freedom - that is the Aquarian endpoint. What is it? Individuality. The ability to choose our own path. To do what we want to do. To take orders from no one, be that person, father, mother, president, priest, or any other authority figure.
Easier said than done.
Enormous forces are massed against our individuality, forces that can steamroller us if we let them, turn us into dancing monkeys. Peer pressure. Conformity. Socialization. The desire to be accepted. Let them take hold, and we serve two masters: our own nature and the vagaries of those around us. Immediately, our freedom is compromised.
For Aquarius, that compromise is anathema. The Water-Bearer's mortal enemy is the tribal instinct. If she succumbs all is lost. She becomes just one more familiar character in the endless sitcom of our daily existence.
Aquarius and conformity: they mix just about as well as peace and nuclear warheads.
To conquer that tribal instinct, Aquarius must cultivate an absolute loyalty to truth. She must say what she sees, regardless of consequences. She must stand firm when her freedom is challenged, whether by coercion or by insidious persuasion. And she must willingly accept her destiny: that of the exile, forever ordained to be out of sync with the values and motivations of her community.
The Aquarian endpoint? The flawless, uncompromising expression of self. Individuality perfected.
Aquarius is the eleventh Sign of the Zodiac, and Aquarians
are the perfect representatives for the Age of Aquarius.
Those born under this Sign have the social conscience
needed to carry us into the new millennium. These folks are
humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in making
the world a better place. Along those lines, they'd like to
make the world work better, which is why they focus much
of their energy on our social institutions and how they work
(or don't work). Aquarians are visionaries, progressive souls
who love to spend time thinking about how things can be
better. They are also quick to engage others in this process,
which is why they have so many friends and acquaintances.
Making the world a better place is a collaborative effort for
Aquarians.
The Sign of Aquarius is symbolized by the Water Bearer. In
much the same way that the Water Bearer brings that
precious liquid as a gift, Aquarians shower the world with
their thoughts and new ideas. Luckily for Aquarians (and the
rest of us), they are at a near-genius level, so their minds
churn out some amazing things. Their thought process is
also inventive and original. While Aquarians are happy to
bestow these ideas as a gift with no strings attached, they
are much happier when the rest of the world agrees with
them. Naysayers will quickly find out that Aquarians can be
impatient, even temperamental, with those who disagree.
Yes, these folks can be quite fixed in their opinions, in
keeping with the Fixed Quality assigned to this Sign. Even
though Aquarians are happy to give, and they do, it's often
on their terms and within their comfort level. Generally, that
means ample space, since these folks are freedom-loving
and individualistic and need to roam (and yes, they do enjoy
travel). While Aquarians are generally sympathetic and
compassionate, they like it when things go their own quirky
way. Some might call their behavior eccentric (and they
would be right), but when you consider that the Aquarian's
heart is truly in the right place, a few oddities should be
overlooked. In their own way, Aquarians treasure their many
friends and acquaintances and want to give back as much
as they can.
The Age of Aquarius and the futuristic explorations it brings to mind are very much in synch with those of people born under this sign. The Water Bearer is a visionary, caring and giving lover who sees the beauty in friendship and the mutual attainment of shared ideals. These independent souls are a fount of ideas, forever dazzling friends and other groups with their quicksilver mind and humanitarian spirit. Mental fireworks are the sexiest kind for the oft-overflowing Water Bearer, and they are captivated by a lover who shares their quest for a better world. An intuitive partner who is willing to look outside the box in the hopes of becoming a more complete being will win an Aquarian's heart straightaway. The Water Bearer is a flirtatious charmer who is at home with many but also appreciates the pleasures created by two.
Sun in conjunction with Mars. You have great emotional control, and this allows you to pace yourself in ways average people cannot. You can keep control when others lose it. This suggests the capacity for sustained effort on your part which may manifest in a natural athletic ability. Your relationships, which tend to be long lasting, are easy going. There is an accent on leadership and masculinity.
Moon in trine with Mercury. You communicate very well, and it is easy for you to give others a feeling for whatever you're thinking. You tend to believe that there is almost no problem that cannot be handled with words, by talking it out. You could be a fine speaker. Your natural sensitivity for the feelings and thoughts of those around you makes you a valued community member. Needless to say, you want a partner who is at home with feelings and -- above all -- likes to talk.
Moon in conjunction with Uranus. You have a knack for coming up with just what the crowd wants. You are nothing else if not an original. You can take an ordinary event and turn it into something brand new, really special. You may have had a somewhat unusual upbringing, and you like a partner who is independent and also a bit unusual. Things are seldom boring with you, for you always have just the right idea of what to do.
Moon in conjunction with Pluto. You have always had a sense of being special, and of having experiences perhaps others have no memory of. You can handle even the most sensitive areas of your (or another's) mind, and have no problem with controversial and upsetting topics like death, dying, sex, and the like. You can't help being a psychologist of sorts. Sometimes it seems like the universe delights in showing its secrets just for you. You have a sixth sense for values, money, property -- opportunities.
Mercury in trine with Uranus. An original thinker, perhaps an inventor. You have a very sharp mind, capable of real insight. You are always thinking of new ways to do things or a new use for something. You are great at finding solutions for existing problems where others have run out of ideas. Almost anything can be turned to an advantage, once you put your mind to it. Communication of all kinds, especially computers, electronics, and the new technology, is right up your alley.
Mercury in trine with Pluto. Very sensitive areas of conversation that might intimidate most (taboo subjects, etc.) don't bother you at all. You always persevere and keep right on investigating. You are expert at getting straight to the heart of things, and would make a super sleuth, or researcher. The deeper a secret is buried, the more likely it is that you will turn it up. And when it comes to money, sex, and other highly charged issues, pity anyone who tries to manipulate you. That's your bailiwick, and there are very few who can stand to argue with you.
Venus in trine with Neptune. You love to lose yourself in your latest dream, whether it be a person or a project. You find it easy to be caught up in images -- dreams, psychology, metaphysics, cinema, etc. You probably love movies -- anything that flicks on the silver screen. You may be an artist and you certainly run with an artistic crowd. You are charming to the point of being enchanting. Very idealistic.
Mars in conjunction with Saturn. You are very skilled and exhibit great artistry in whatever you do. Your work is always well organized and efficiently produced. You are driven to accept more and more responsibility, which is not a burden to you. This is a sign of excellent managerial ability. You're in it for the long haul and are a good example of what real discipline looks like.
Moon in opposition with Venus. You have mixed feelings when it comes to other people. You can't live with them and you can't live without them. You are used to a high degree of emotional tension. People may misinterpret your emotional chargedness as aggression or disapproval, when in fact that's just the way you are. They may not support your values. You long for a smooth relationship, but if you look at your history it's been a rocky road indeed. You may have trouble locating an environment where you feel comfortable and can flourish.
Mercury in square with Jupiter. You think you can get around doing things as you know they are supposed to be done. These shortcuts end up costing you a lot. You also tend to bite off more than you can chew and can have a million projects going at once. You get carried away with yourself easily in arguments, and those close to you sometimes accuse you of not being entirely fair with them.
Venus in opposition with Uranus. You could have a fear of the new and different -- of sudden changes. However, once they occur you really get a charge out of them. You would like to break away and live an unusual, exciting existence, but your conventionality holds you back from making the move. The result is that you often feel frustrated and mired in the humdrum. Jealousy in love affairs could present a problem.
Venus in opposition with Pluto. Power struggles are no stranger to you. You tend to put off confrontations until they build up and then explode, kind of like having your own built-in volcano. You probably have considerable emotional tension and a strong sexual drive. Your flair for secrecy could find you with more than one lover, several affairs.
Mars in square with Neptune. You sometimes have trouble distinguishing between your dreams of life and the actual reality. Or you lack the discipline to make those dreams real, to work to make reality be as you always dreamed it could be. This could lead to unreasonable expectations of other people, especially your lover. A tendency to daydream finds you with a number of false starts. You are easily distracted and have difficulty carrying things through to the finish. You may worry about being deceived by others.
