For starters, let's look at this map of Canada (sorry, Lynx users). As
you might have guessed, Saskatchewan is that big yellow trapezoid in the
western part of the country. (Regina's the little red dot.) That means that Saskatchewan either has a
bad case of jaundice or is a really special place in which to live; I
prefer to think the latter. For you history majors out there, the word is
derived from Cree and means "fast flowing water". How do you pronounce
it? Try it slowly: sas-KAT-choo-wun.
