Do you have a question? | I'm here to help! | Useful Links: | ||
I'm frequently asked questions either in the USENET
newsgroup, alt.fashion.crossdressing, or in the
Transchat.sister.org Chat Room, The Pink Room, which deserve
a more comprehensive answer than either of those
venues permit.
I've created this set of pages to contain those
questions, and their answers.

I've cheated -- I collected these names and comments from a long running discussion in the USENET alt.fashion.crossdressing newsgroup
I have only seen a couple of these... but try to keep my eyes and ears open for them. I may be a bit too cheap to buy them or special request them from my local video store.
Anyway, here's the list as I've accumulated it so far. The titles are followed by principal participants, any review information, and the first person who nominated that movie in the alt.fashion.crossdressing "Crossdressing Movies" thread.
I've sorted the list into title sequence, ignoring any leading "A", "An", or "The" words.
I started including lots of details, but later realized that including the movie links was enough... if you want to look, just click and get much more than I could have plagerized. The "Movie Links" point to The Internet Movie Database, a wonderful resource for movie information.
Additional resources include:
Bronwen (from Australia) has suggested you might like some great bits of celebrity gossip.

Govinda is a small time actor who plays female roles on stage. In one situation, there is a need for an older woman to claim that she is a distant "Aunty". Govinda is forced to do the necessary. Govinda is featured as an Aunty and a queen of some God-forsaken place. Govinda looks more pathetic than convincing.

They do a lot of crossdressing in their TV show and their movie Brain Candy
Christie
Kamalahasan as the divorced husband of Tabu wants to be close to his daughter. So disguises himself as an old woman who gets a job as a Nanny. Kamalhasan for most of the movie is in gorgeous nine yard sarees with matching blouses and all. He is completely convincing and according to a family member "looks better that way". (And yes this was inspired by Tootsie.)

Bronwen adds Jaye plays a very convincing CD role in this film.

In "I Love You Alice B. Tolkas", a crossdresser enters a boutique and tries on a cute mini skirt and inquires about shortening it. I'd forgotten all about that scene till I'd seen the flick recently and thought "Another reason I liked this movie, I guess". Fun to look back and see things you've missed.

Anne Heywood plays the role of a man wanting to be a woman

A Brainless thriller -cum- comedy. Stars Biswajit and Babita. In one scene, Biswajit and Babita are featured as woman and man respectively and believe me - Biswajit is more convincing as a woman than Babita as a man. In fact Biswajit looks more alluring than some of the heroines in the industry! .

The link is for the "original" I'm revealing my age here, but do any British readers remember the "Old Mother Riley" movies of the 1950's with (from memory) Arthur Lucan and Kitty McShane - not sure if those are exactly the right names. OMR was rather more like a pantomime 'dame' than a convincing CD. Also from memory they were married but later split up and the last film they made together had to be shot so that they didn't have to appear in scenes together.

A concert party goes into a jail which includes at least one CD in the troupe and also during the concert the film keeps cutting to one of the prisoners who is disguising himself as a woman to escape, pretending to be one of the concert troupe..

Rishi Kapoor and Paintal witness a murder and have to escape the murderers who are now after them to eliminate the only witnesses. Rishi Kapoor and Paintal for nearly 40% of the movie are featured as girls in a group of GGs on a picnic or study tour or something!
Abner Whateley
