The Lumberjack Song
Eclectic? Girl, this is ECLECTIC! This song hardly belongs in the class of the poem and the other songs. It takes a warped mind to fully appreciate Monte Python, and when Amber (from the USENET newsgroup alt.fashion.crossdressing) let me know she had a .WAV file of this, and I had the space, I could not resist loading her .WAV files and making them available here. At the present time, I think the larger song is not complete, and the short clip is just the first few measures of the song.
Amber was looking for a place to put a .WAV file of the famous Monte Python "Lumberjack Song"... and I had a bit of free space still available here on Geocities. She uploaded the file, and I'm trying to set this up so you can hear it. It worked for me on Windows 95 with Netscape Communicator 4.06. Let me know if you can (or cannot) make them work.
"The Lumberjack Song" from Monty Python's Flying Circus
Michael Palin:
I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay
I sleep all night and I work all day
Mountie Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's okay
He sleeps all night and he works all day
Michael Palin:
I cut down trees; I eat my lunch; I go to the lavatree
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have butter scones for tea
Mountie Chorus:
He cuts down trees; he eats his lunch; he goes to the lavatree
On Wednesdays he goes shopping and has butter scones for tea
Michael Palin and Mountie Chorus:
I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay
I sleep all night and I work all day
Michael Palin:
I cut down trees; I skip and jump
I like to press wildflowers; I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars
Mountie Chorus:
He cuts down trees; he skips and jumps
He likes to press wildflowers; he puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars
Michael Palin and Mountie Chorus:
I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay
I sleep all night and I work all day
Michael Palin:
I cut down trees; I wear high heels, suspendies and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie just like my dear mama
Mountie Chorus:
He cuts down trees; he wears high heels, suspendies and a bra!?
Chorus grumbles disapproval and then sings:
He's a lumberjack and he's okay
He sleeps all night and he works all day
He's a lumberjack and he's okay
He sleeps all night and he works all day
You can go to the real audio link and sing along. Have fun!!!
Hear a short (30K bytes) clip
Hear the whole thing (1.5M bytes). This may take a looong time to load.
