Here's a sampling of the places we've been. It's a continuously growing list, so keep checking back!

February 2001 and September 2001: Eddy had never been to Big Bend (Southwest Texas) before he met John, who had gone there with his sisters the previous December. We loved this place! It's an ancient volcanic area in the Chihuahuan desert with several different ecosystems in its boundaries. The desert floor is hot and dry, but inside a collapsed volcanic caldera, it's a temperate woodland. We loved it so much we brought a group of friends back to see it in September.

June 2001: We got the notion sometime in 2000 to take a trip to try out a bear gathering together in another state. Around the same time we'd also decided to take a trip to see the Pacific Northwest. We think it was Eddy who picked Portland, Oregon. It just so happened that around the time we wanted to go, the Oregon Bears were having their annual bear event, Beards & Roses.

November 2001: John had a great idea to visit Williamsburg, Virginia, over Thanksgiving. What a wonderful way to spend a holiday, with all the colonial architecture and history of the area, both of us being history buffs and all. We blew our dining budget the first night, but we had a wonderful time.

December 2001: This trip grew out of a desire to NOT spend New Year's Eve standing in a smoky bar with a glass of cheap champagne in a plastic cup. It grew to become a trip to Savannah, Jawja; Charleston, "Sooth" Carolina; and the Appalachian Mountains of Tennesee. Remind me to tell you about Christmas Dinner.

September 2002: We went almost two years ago, but I haven't put the pics up yet. I'm such a slacker!
