LONGEVITY:
WHY DO MASTER / slave RELATIONSHIPS NOT LAST LONG?
HOW DO WWE KEEP THEM GOING?
Why do Master/slave relationships not last long?
- boredom
- mismatch between Master and slave
- lack of leadership on the Master's part
- lack of focus on the slave's part
- laziness
- breach of trust
- abuse
- flavor of the month - endless supply of slaves
- mistaking extended role play for reality Mastery/slavery
- lofty goals with no plan to reach them
How do we keep them going?
- provide clear relationship structure
- use protocol
- acknowledge good service
- affirm your relationship
- celebrate successes
This is such an important topic, with such good points to remember, that I wanted to preserve it in writing as a reference on this site. The topic and discussion points were pulled together by Masters and slaves Together (MAsT) NYC for a July 22, 2001 gathering.
Masters and slaves Together (MAsT) NYC is a support group for area gay men involved in or interested in the Master/slave lifestyle as well as Daddy/boy and other Dominant submissive relationships. Our monthly meetings provide an opportunity and a forum for like-minded men to come together for discussion of issues that concern Masters and slaves, to share ideas and knowledge of the Master/slave lifestyle, and to socialize with others who appreciate the special character of gay Master/slave relationships.
About This Meeting & Topic:
For many men into some form of a Master/slave (M/s) or Dominant/submissive (D/s) relationship, "longevity" seems to be short lived in a large percent of these unions. At this meeting we hope to talk about [the points that are now listed above].
