Victor Jaccarino '68 was lovers, partners, spouse to (what is politically correct this week) to Allen Bunting for 21 years who died of AIDS in May of 1994. Active in AIDS organizations, Board of East End Gay Organization in East Hampton NY where Allen and I had and I have a country home. Am President-elect of the New York State English Council, putting together a conference for all of New York State English teachers - Terrence McNally will be a speaker - telling his story. Am the Chair of English in the Herricks School District in New Hyde Park, NY, Am on the Board of the Conference of English Leadership - of the National Council of Teachers of English. Bruce Shewitz '73 has been working at The Cleveland Museum of Art since late 1976. Following a 19-year stint in the music department, which produces a year-'round classical concert series, he moved to the photo studio in March 1976 as administrative assistant. He has been director of music at The Temple-Tifereth Israel (Reform) for 15 years, accompanies the North Coast (gay) Men's Chorus, and sings in Good Company, a lesbigay vocal ensemble. J. Scott Van Der Meid '94 is working toward his Master's degree in Intercultural Relations at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. Having spent the last three years in Japan, Scott is enjoying being closer to friends and family. When he's not studying or working at Pier 1 Imports, Scott volunteers with the Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Speakers Bureau of Boston. Daniel Noel '95 recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area with another Allegheny alum, Alexis Walker '95, after being incredibly impressed by Gay Pride weekend. He is currently working with Severely Emotionally Disturbed adolescents in a residential treatment center which aims at helping them be more accountable for their actions and to help them develop goals for themselves. Daniel will be attending Dominican College in the Fall of 97 in their MS program for counseling psychology which will prepare him for certification as an MFCC (Marriage, Family, Child Counselor).
