A CHINESE WEDDING
The second wedding of the year was interesting for a different reason than the first. It was another work wedding, however, both the bride and groom were of Chinese descent and a nine course wedding banquet was held. The wedding was basically in their back yard since their yard borders on a small park in the development. The first picture is the couple from the first wedding.
Here they are as husband and wife, Ms. Christina Chan and Mr. Herbert Lau.
The most interesting part of the wedding was next. The reception involved nine courses of Chinese dishes, most of which none of the American guests would have chosen off a Chinese restaurant menu or could tell you what they were. Also during a Chinese wedding banquet, the bride and groom have games that they have to play. They're a little bit odd, but fun to watch. In addition, the bride also wears three dresses during the banquet, including her wedding dress.
