UP, UP AND AWAY
One of the things I like to do quite a bit is travel. My mother says that I can't sit still in one place too long, that's why I travel so much. I think it's because I've got a bit of wanderlust in me. I've done some international travel, but not much. I'm hoping to do more in the near future. In the meantime, you'll find a list of where I've been and some links to check out some of my favorite places, both in the US and abroad. There are also some links to Web sties where you can check out airlines Web pages or make your own reservations.
Here's maps of places that I've been. The green denotes states that I've actually visited and stepped foot in while the purple are states that I've just changed planes in.
As far as Europe is concerned, I've made three trips overseas. The first was to Greece when I was 12 with a great aunt that had just retired. The trip was fun and at a great time since I had just finished studying Ancient Greece. The second trip was as an exchange student for the month of July in 1984. I spent a month living with a family whose oldest son had stayed with us the previous year. It was a fantastic experience to be immersed in the French language and it made me decide to continue my studies in college and eventually get a minor.
The third trip to Europe was the most interesting. This was a four week Eurail trip that I took right after I graduated from college. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had and I'm glad I was ale to do it. I was depressed at the beginning of the trip because I didn't have a job to go back to, but afterwards I realized that it would be many years before I could link four weeks of vacation together. The trip was 7 cities in six countries over 4 weeks. I traveled with a cousin that I didn't know well at the beginning, but got closer to by the end. Some day I might put up a story about the trip, but that's going to be a saga longer than any of my current pages
These links will take you to my favorite places, places I want to visit, and some sites to help you plan a trip.
