Rome was not built on one single day, neither was Pink Village. After 4 weeks of presence, 5 out of 10 properties on the Pink Island are now taken. If you want to settle down in this central part of the village, you really should hurry up!:)

This is the 2nd issue of our Newsletter. 60 persons read the 1st issue, which is not bad considered that it is hard to find a copy outside Pink Village. For those of you who just picked up this March issue more or less occationally, please note that Pink Point is not ment to be a AlphaWorld newspaper. You are now about to read the newsletter for citizens and guests of the gay community, Pink Village. Come visit us!

Regards from Bille
Mayor of Pink Village

News about Active Worlds' future!
327 people did join the press conference at the Transcend on March 9th at 1.00 gmt. The bosses informed about AW's past, present and future. AW was close to death, but according to tonight's meeting the activity and improvements will now increase instead. The concept is now owned by The Circle of Fire Studios, and this sounds to be good news for the users. There will be no charging of the end users, but we are all challenged to spread information on AW in order to get more citizens.

What's New?

Maps updated
There has for some weeks now been a map of PV central parts (the Pink Island) for study at the Info Centre. This map was made before several adjustments have taken place, so if you have been concentrating on details, you might have got lost in our small community!

Two new maps will be released March 5th, both updated most recently. One of them will replace the old one, and the other one is the long pronounced map of the Outland. Both maps should rather be downloaded from the Public Services if you want to read descriptions or study other details.

Roads in PV Outland
There has been lots of building activity in the Outland for the last week. Roads and streets seemed to pop up everywhere. Does this activity mean that PV are planning official buildings out there? The answer is no. The roads are done in order to obtain a certain structure of the land, and to make it easier when the PV Council sooner or later will claim more land for fortune settlers. There are still no restrictions due to building in the PV Outland, but please claim land outside the PV Border Road if you plan any really large settings.

Get exposed
PV citizens has now got a fair chance to do their own marketing on communal ground. Every citizen can order one frame each (pict1 or pict3) on the Pink Island, and will get their jpg picture exposed there, and also by identical frames placed at two different squares in the PV Outland. Check out more information at the homepage of Press Ltd, which is located at Trans Road (2228S 2229E).

PV Guestbook
The book which was released on March 1st, is to be found at the Info Centre and at a stand located at Queer Square, but can also be entered from the Public Services. The guestbook stand will in time be replaced by a guestbook tower with a room for the book at the top floor.

Click on a computer
You'll find lots of information on the PV community by clicking the computer either at the Info Centre or at the Town Hall Reception Desk. Most shops and services has also got their own computer which gives you access to their homepages on the Web. Notify that some of these pages are not linked from the Public Services.

How to find...
...a gay friend, was in February announced to be an article in this issue. As there at the moment is rather few gay related meeting points in PV, this article is rather saved for a later issue.

Our very first party! Pink Parade Night Club is opening on March 15th, and you are very much welcome to celebrate this event with us! There will be lots of optional music, and also a few competitions. If anyone wants to stand up as a comedian the stairs will do as stage, and there's also a floor for dancing. In the bar you can order whatever you like to drink - it's all on the house! Most important though is it that you'll get a chance to meet the PV citizens for a friendly chat!

Be there, be queer!

The party will begin on March 15th at 00.01 am and go on for 24 hours. The club will be officially opened by the Mayor at 2.00 am.
More information can be found at the nightclub's entrance, and that's also where any lucky winners will be announced the day after.
(note: all times reefers to European Greenwich Middle Time (GMT).

Be there - be queer!

The Sky Forest

If you follow the Pink Highway north, cross the PV Border Road ant then turn to your left, you'll get your eyes on the largest project initiated by a PV citizen this far (2180S 2213E). It is called the Sky Forest, and is located as part of the landscape surrounding the river coming from somewhere further north.

Eljay in front of the café

Eljay, who is responsible to this project, has got lots of future plans for the area:
"Today the Sky forest has got a café, lots of pictures and also a monument of the three first citizens of PV", Eljay announces. "Within a few weeks there will be attractions like riverboats and a beach. Sky Forest will appear more or less as a recreation centre - for holidays or just for a shorter stop."

How big is this area, and from where do all this water come?
"The river starts it's journey from a big lake further north, and there are several pretty beautiful scenarios along it's passage. The river gets real wide further south - that's where the Pink Island is."

Sky Forest reminds of a flying island

When will the Sky Forest be all done?
Eljay sighs: "Well, as you should know, there are always something to improve, or new ideas ought to be added. So I think this work will go on for a while. The riverboats and the beach though, will be ready in a few weeks, I hope."

Give the river a name!
The Sky Forest project is proclaiming a competition where you are invited to suggest a name for the main river. Any suggestions should be mailed to Eljay. Deadline is 31st of March.

The Amazing Maze

Torches, walls and lots of decisions to make...

Pink Village has now got it's main attraction - a huge maze that covers three floors and includes a task to be solved by the visitors. The task will be replaced every month, and the structure of the walls will also change by time. Winners will get their name on a permanent sign by the entrance of the Maze.

Invitation to all
cyber artists

Be a spot on the wall! All PV citizens and visitors are hereby invited to make a picture or painting (JPG file) as a contribution to the forthcoming exhibition at Gallerie 2222! The exhibition, which will be named "Pink & Plain", is opening on April 1st, and will last for 7 weeks. Check out the Gallerie's diary for more information. Deadline is March 20th.

The Town Hall

The PV Town Hall is the first building you see when you get teleported to Pink Village from any of the advertising boards that are placed in AlphaWorld (2222S 2222E 222). This red building contains the Info Centre and the Post Office on ground level, and if you walk the stairs to the 1st floor, you'll get to the Town Hall Reception Desk, the PV Council's Chamber and finally the Mayor's office.

The Town Hall is a red building...

The Info Centre is the perfect place to start whenever you are visiting Pink Village! Besides the maps on the wall, the Pink Point news stand and of course the PV Guestbook, you should pay some attention to the computer on the desk. By clicking on it you'll get various local information such as PV Law, history, list of shops and services within PV, the maps in higher quality, and also the form for registration as a PV citizen.

At the Post Office you will find a sign for each registered citizen. Click the sign to send the person an e-mail.

The locations upstairs are more or less reserved for the PV Council, but of course - you might take a look around if you are a bit curious

Any comments or contributions to Pink Point, especially
gay- and Pink Village related stuff, are highly appreciated!
