[PV gathering hours] [PV foundation day] ["Arto" by Alme] [The new avatars] [Dark side of PV] [New World Times] By Bille Now and then foreigners do visit Pink Village. Some of them have more or less by accident clicked a sign3 or pict1 to get here, and some are totally aware of that they are entering a gay community. |
Saturdays 14:00 VRT & 22:00 VRT (16:00 & 24:00 GMT) are hereby introduced as PV gathering hours. Any participants should come to Queer Square (2222s 2222e 222) but the group might of course move. It would be nice though if anyone arriving within the next hour will be able to track the group. No specific program is needed, and of course; Nobody is expected to show up for every gathering.
Let's see how this works out and eventually adjust it after a few months. The hours will be announced on a permanent board at Queer Square.
Believe it or not; January 30th it's been a year since the first building object was placed on the ground where you today find Pink Village. This far there has been 27 citizens registered, and even though not all of them are visiting too often, it has been a fun year. You are welcome to participate when we celebrate our gay community's first year of existence:)
In accordance to PV Law there will also be an election of a new PV Council this day. If you, as a citizen, want to know more about what this might contain, please look at back issues of Pink Point, or notify Eljay or Bille, and let's know of your interest before January the 20th. It's not meant to be a lot of work to be a PV councillor, we are in here just for the fun of it:)
The anniversary will be celebrated on January 30th with parties and gatherings, probably all day long to satisfy all time zones of the real world. Keep an eye on the party page as we get closer to the date.
Painter, Magne Alme, opened his exhibition December 6th. 11 oil and acrylic paintings were presented under the title "Arto". Alme has learned this art from experimenting on his own, and this is the 2nd time his art is shown in a gallery. The 1st time it was in Oslo, Norway.
The very first guest joining the vernissage, flanked
by two of Alme's men that you can not see at G-2222.
"Arto" can be watched through-out January. He will be glad to get some feed back on his work, so don't hesitate to leave a note for the gallery (office desk inside).
The new cool studs and gals, all correctly dressed and styled for being as fancy as can be, are getting quite too perfect, even for a cyber world. And, even though we are quite cool ourselves, (aren't we all?), it would be even cooler if we were given the possibility to be as fat and ugly as in real life. To get an avatar with a personality, or at least could choose to look a bit different than all the rest.
Well - at least my head is clean shaved - and that's pretty cool, huh?
November 9th the Chains Club were opened. It's a pretty rough stage for guys and girls who like leather, ropes, chains and like to do more than kissing. Among the features there are private cabins, toilets and a tiny gallery. The club is decorated by images related to those presented in "The Cave" exhibition at G-2222 Oct/Nov.
The most fun attraction though might be the darkroom which is located far out of Pink Village, which means you get the privacy to chat as you like. The darkroom is connected by an teleport entrance downstairs at the Chains Club. If you got a slow connection you might experience to fall too far down as the floor objects might not have been downloaded - that's on your first try. Retry!
Inside this dark cellar you will hear strange sounds from hidden activity. There is also a hidden cage where you might get trapped. If so - the other visitors can do whatever they like to you - hehe. Tempting? Let's go!
AlphaWorld's first newspaper, New World Times (NWT), has recently refreshed it's concept and lay-out.
The most surprising change is that the new concept no longer contains any columns for advertising where Active Worlds users can announce their buildings or events. Seems like the paper is turning away from the ordinary user, and instead giving priority to world owners and even 3D-communities outside the Active Worlds. Is this any improvement? Will anyone start a new paper for us ordinary users who still want to use AlphaWorld as a place to meet nice people and visit cool sites?
Old NWT-issues are still available.
