This is WetWetWet. Why the nick?
Well, it started way back in Fall of 1992 when I first got the taste of IRC. I was still very localized, hanging out at the Cleveland area server that's not connected to the world. Every month, I would grow tired of the nickname I chose for myself.
One day, I couldn't figure a new one out of the top of my head. The CD that was playing on the stereo at the time was High On The Happy Side by, yes, Wet Wet Wet. This is the same band that scored a massive hit with their cover version of Love Is All Around for the soundtrack of Four Weddings And A Funeral. I liked the band then and I still do, even after they broke up in 1999 and Marti Pellow started his solo career.
Unfortunately, WetWetWet sounds like a) I'm into WaterSports; b) a woman who is sexually aroused; c) a woman who is sexually aroused by WaterSports. Many men and women fell prey to that. I've grown from having to explain it to just ignore them.
So when the time came to pick up a username for my Gay.Com account, I decided to go on a different route, after I found out that WetWetWet had been taken up. I chose WriteSimple instead, as it is my business e-mail address for my freelance writing work. Nicknames on IRC and any other chatrooms have a tendency to be simplified or truncated. As fate would have it, WriteSimple has now been simplified to WS. I'm still not into WaterSports. Thanks for wondering about that.
For the record, I am a freelance writer who have worked in print, net-zines, and also television. I've written a play, worked with a team at sitcom development and is constantly working on my screenplay. If you are looking for a writer or know someone who would want one, contact me for more info.
UPDATE -- February 17th 2005: Something happened in 2003-4 (yeah, I know the update is way due). My Netscape account for feedback about this site (wetmfzwet@netscape.net) had been rendered useless. So those who have been e-mailing me on this e-mail and have it bounced, many apologies! My Gay.com account had also been nullified for something I still don't know to this day. I don't know what happened to all of these accounts but I suspect they got hijacked. Oh well. Look forward to seeing me on Gay.com sometime soon in 2005.
In the meanwhile I'm reachable via Yahoo (fuadbearhunter). I'm also on Skype (writesimply). If you do try to contact me there, please tell me you found me via browsing to my website.
The photos on this page are all taken by me. And yeah, they're pretty much new, around 12 months old on one of them. I figure I haven't updated this page in a long time so it's time to show how I have changed and grown older and fatter.
You would think that after all these years, something major would've changed about me. Not really. I'm still in Kuala Lumpur - that's in Malaysia for the geographically-challenged. I haven't moved and my phone number is still the same (hint, hint). Bears, hot men and fuckbuddies came, and came, and went.
I've moved on from the weekly radio promotional scripts to writing sitcoms for local TV stations to writing a locally produced animated series, which is a damn good effort if I have to say so myself. Along the way, I've written a software manual, a software training module and worked on translation projects. Here's my updated resume if you want to take a look.
The one, and biggest, change that happened in my life is that after 10 years I've finally fallen in love again! I can't believe that the advice that I give others - that love will strike when you least expect it to - would again prove true for me. It's simply amazing how life can still surprise me.
My man is handsome, hot, incredibly sexy, passionate, compassionate, adorable, funny, silly, shy, huggable, spoonable, deliciously snoggable, full of surprises, patient, paternal, maternal, constantly horny and massively cute. My man is also not a computer techie, peppers his chat with typos and occasionally forgetful. He is a tall, big, bald, bearded, hairy muscle bear in the making. He's great in and out of bed too, if you hadn't guessed it. In short, he's Mr. Almost Right! I love him very very much, more than I could express in words - for a writer, that's pretty much some serious lovin'!
It's still brand new. I'm looking forward to have some dents and scratches on it. Love that is not tested is not love that can't endure the test of time. We're in it for the long haul. We will love each other till the end of our lives.
So that's basically it for this update. If you are looking for a non-sexual friend to guide you while you're visiting KL, send me a message and I'll help you out anyway I can.
In the meanwhile, live life to the fullest, don't be afraid to be who you are and don't be afraid to love deeply. Smile a lot and enjoy your limited time on Earth!
Md. Fuad Zain
More photos, but not of me. Just ones I took.
