Press For Change is a pressure and lobbying group acting on behalf of transsexuals. They persuaded Alec Carlile, the Liberal Democrat member of parliament to introduce a bill into the house of commons in 1996. They were also responsible for a victory in the European Court of Justice in 1996. This was the case of P v Cornwall County Council and led to Transsexuals being included in sex-discrimination legislation. It is now illegal to dismiss a Transsexual from employment on the grounds that they are Transsexual. The Gender Trust is closely associated with the Gender Trust.
