Decided to treat myself to a movie. I originally wanted to see SAVED but it was only showing in Kenilworth, the other side of Cape Town. I looked up the movies at the Ster-Kinekor complex at Tygervalley and it seemed as most of the movies were for children. I looked up the details for THE VILLAGE and wondered if it was worth seeing.  I almost decided to give it a miss, but changed my mind. The cinema was almost empty. At first the movie seemed a little too wierd, but the scenery and particularly the old-world country style of living really interested me. It turned out to be a really good movie with a real twist in it's tale. As I said, I really enjoyed their simple style of living and their little stone-built cottages with shutters on the windows. No cash, no credit-cards, no roads, no cars, no electricity. And the movie has no steamy sex-scenes, or bad-language or blasphemy! Don't be put off by the "evil" that lurks in the forest surrounding to village.
