17:08 Wow! It's been a hot day! Reached at least 34c in my caravan. And it's so dry. Outside the sun really beats down. I was tempted to go out and see a movie in air-conditioned comfort, but the thought of driving in the Christmas shopping traffic in an un-air-conditioned car just didn't make it worth it. So I logged onto the internet and spent some time on GCN. I've just phoned my brother, Ken, in Miami. It's his birthday today. Good to hear his voice again and noticed that he's starting to get an American twang to his voice. He is a pastor at the Princeton Church of the Nazarene. Glen phoned me from prison at midday. It's so nice hearing his voice over the phone. It's so great to be able to tell each other that we love each other. The other men in the line waiting for the phone know about our relationship, so Glen can talk quite openly about it. One of the wardens said that our love puts a lot of straight marriages to shame! There are a lot of married men who no longer hear from their wives and families. But I could never desert my love. I don't understand why we can't be together, but I know it will happen one day in the near future. I even asked if I could come and spend Christmas with him in prison! But they refused. In the mean time life goes on. He has promised to give me a birthday card on Monday when I visit him. It's my birthday on the 16th. The air is cooling down at last. I think I will go and sit outside in the shade and enjoy a book. |
