Friday, November 14, 1997 The Halifax Herald Limited BYERS (Rogers), Margaret Jean - Died peacefully on November 12, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Christiana (MacPhee) Rogers. She was active in Westminister Presbyterian Church and was known for her violin playing. She was a member of St. John Ambulance and Order of Eastern Star in Amherst and Halifax. She was very active in many groups in Northwood Manor and was treasurer of the resident council. She is survived by son, Robert, Halifax; daughters, Shirley and husband William Doig, New Glasgow; Catherine and husband Stephen Brown, Grand Bay, N.B.; grandchildren, John, Bill, Emily, Lisa and Kimberly. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfrid Byers; son, Herbert; daughter, Edna; sister, Edna Tanner; brother, Ray Rogers. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held today, November 14, at 2 p.m. in Northwood Centre, Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. Burial at a future date in New Glasgow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division, or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax.
