Since you're here, allow you to tell you a little something about myself in a very random fashion.
Hi! My name is JC. Actually, it's an abbreviation to protect my anonymity, since I teach in a public school in Kansas City and don't want to give any ill-wishers ammunition to use against me. Sad that I have to do that, huh? Anyone who knows anything at all about me will be able to easily figure out from the following who I am. I don't need to ask you to keep it on the DL, do I?
I'm a Leo born in '69. Coincidentally, so is my partner of seven years, DB (also and educator). We live in the Kansas City area...where I grew up. My partner's a transplant from that way --> who stays in the midwest to be with me :-)
We live with our four golden retrievers and our bitchy cat. Let us know if you want an awesome puppy. As for the cat--let's just say her family tree stops with her. I took care of that a long time ago.
We bought a house in January of '99 and we love it. It's a great old house with lots of character--three bedrooms, hardwood throughout, three garages, one-and-a-half story. It sits on 4 1/2 acres--plenty of room for the little ones to run and play. For more info, you'll have to come see it yourself. Our ongoing, online housewarming is now underway. Send us cards, letters, gifts to congratulate us on our HOMOwnership.
Although I now live in the Show-Me State, I'm a loyal Jayhawker from the other side of the state line. I am a graduate of the University of Kansas where I completed a B.S. in journalism in 1991.
Even though I've taken other coursework at UMKC and K-State while working toward teacher certification and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, I'll still always chant Rock Chalk Jayhawk. While at KU, I was actively involved in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. I also was a member of the KU Bands where my highlight was playing in the basketball band for the 1988 NCAA Champions.
