UK Midi Archive

The UK Midi Archive

A simple review this time around.

Those of you with Sound Cards (essential for the reviewed site) will probably be aware of the file format MIDI (those of you running Microsoft Internet Explorer should be able to hear ABBA’s Waterloo playing, if not click here).

MIDI is a compact file format containing all the information required for your sound card to play a piece of music. The UK MIDI Archive is far and away the best source of MIDI files that I’ve come across.

Files are arranged in Alphabetic order - by artist and given a rating out of ten - roughly how well they have survived the translation to the Bontempiesque (sic) format.

It is also possible to search for a particular track, see the files arranged in download rating or quality rating order.

With over 600 files (at time of writing) this is a fun and useful resource!
