Sonic Youth Rocks the Garden!
These cats make the most beautiful noise I've ever heard. They aren't for everyone, but if you don't mind lots of feedback, shitty-ass vocals, and lots of dissonance you might like 'em. Mind you, they back up every wrenching chord with enough cool to make your mamma hip! Kim and Thurston are the coolest breeders alive! I'll see them again on the 21st of July and hope to get more photos! Check back!

Stereolab play muzak in the white-hot sunlight!
If you are not yet familiar with Stereolab you ought to be ashamed of yourself. They are, without a doubt, one of the most amazing musical groups around today! They play a sort of alternative lounge music with the vocals primarily in French. It's moody, it's jazzy, it's loungy, it's absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend you start with Dots and Loops and then move on to Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Cobra and the Phases Group. . ., and First of the Microbe Hunters. Their earlier stuff is a little different, and I like it. However, you're going to have to like a lot of dissonance to stomach it. Catch them live if you can--you will NOT be disappointed!
