People have often asked,
"Why is there Humor?
How can we laugh at anything when we are such
Sad men, ones who know the hurt and
Pain of the world?"
My answer is
Humor, laughter is a
Shield. It hides me from the
World. Wraps me in an
Emerald glow. Protects me from the
Heat of your evil eye that would
No doubt stop my heart. Not that
I'm afraid
Of
Dying
But of
Being
Cold.
And I think,
"If I make you
Laugh
Perhaps you will be
Warm."
I can't be all that bad
If I can make you
Warm.
I get chills up and
Down my spine when I make you,
To make you warm.
Maybe even
Hot.
So you
Burn me.
White hot.
For a moment
It is as if
I love you
And you love me.
And we melt
Into thin air.
Sadness cannot touch us here.
