"Charlie Hughes & The Westernaires!"

Charlie Hughes & The Westeraires (picture taken in 1965 when my father was 44 years old.) From left: on drums my father Leonard W. "Warren" Grossmann, bass guitarist & vocalist Cliff Fitch, band leader Charlie Hughes (rhythm & vocalist), on guitar Jim Wright (lead & vocalist), and Johnny Van Pelt (steel guitar).

Taken at the Bell Hotel in Schenevus, New York, USA they entertained crowds of Country & Western fans for nearly two decades with their music and square-dancing. Warren's son carries on the tradition with the Hulse Brothers (scroll down).

From Left: Bobby Hulse, Patti (Hulse) Crissel, Jimmy Hulse, Charlie Grossmann (drums) & Dave Hulse. The band changed names several times over the years. They played The Red Barn (also known as the The Guestward Ho) near Oquaga Lake in Deposit, The Jordan House also in Deposit (which has since burned down), Echo Lake in the Afton area, and the The Big Valley Ranch outside Sherman PA to name a few.
