Robert de Niro may be the main guy in this comedy drama, but his co-star, Philip Seymour Hoffman, walked off with all the awards. Or should that be, flounced off?

Hoffman plays Rusty, a drag queen who befriends de Niro, a security guard who needs singing lessons after suffering a partial stroke. It may all sound terribly sombre, but it's actually great fun.

De Niro plays an ultra-conservative macho man who can't stand Rusty and her friends, and the last thing he needs is singing lessons from a man in a dress! Still, despite their differences, they become firm friends.

This movie was a hit of the 1999 "Out in Africa" Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in South Africa.
