Set in 1977, Armistead Maupin’s More Tales of the City picks up where Tales of the City left off, following the lives of a wonderful collection of San Francisco residents as their stories are woven together into an intricate plot involving friendship, love, secrets, betrayal, hidden identities, crime and passion, all set in an era of sexual freedom.

Mary Ann, no longer the naïve young woman from Cleveland, is still looking for Mr Right. Left a sum of money by her late boss, she invites her best friend Michael ‘Mouse’ Tolliver on a cruise, where each search for romance. Soon after arriving on the boat, Mary Ann spots Burke, and the chemistry is immediate and intense. Michael, jealous of her new-found love, goes to the only gay bar on shore, where he meets his former lover, the dishy Dr John Fielding.

Meanwhile, on the elite side of town, Dede, heiress to the Halcyon empire, is pregnant – with twins! Her husband, Beauchamp Day has inherited Halcyon Communications and Frannie Halcyon is looking for new meaning in her life since her husband died.

Back at Barbary Lane, Brian, who might be more than he appears, has embarked on a curious relationship of mutual voyeurism with a mystery woman, and Mona is feeling abandoned and depressed and buys a one way ticket to Reno, Nevada. A chance meeting with the talkative Mother Mucca, the owner of a Nevada brothel, changes her itinerary and her life.
