The rags to nipple-clamps tale centres around the tough-talking white-trash Nomi Malone, a brain-dead blonde Barbie doll who is lured to the bright lights, fast living and tacky lifestyle of Las Vegas, home of high rollers and the $1.49 strawberry shortcake. Nomi soon finds herself the object of attention for Cristal (Gina Gershon), the slinky, coke-sniffing star/slut of a topless Vegas revue show at the Stardust Hotel. Cristal, who happily wallows in her own hedonism, wants the sneering Nomi in the worst way, and almost succeeds, despite such romantic lines as "I’ve always liked nice tits".
