WHEN NIGHT IS FALLING

From the director of "I've Heard the Mermaids Sing" comes this refreshingly liberating tale of lesbian love. Camille is a Christian academician romantically involved with Martin, a fellow teacher, a nice enough guy but one more interested in professional advancement than in keeping Camille happy.

Camille's repressed emotions come to the surface after she meets flamboyant circus performer Petra at a laundromat. Despite being diametrical opposites, the two are attracted to each other. initially Camille plays a repetitive game of "I want you, no I don't". That is until Camille finally unleashes her pent-up desires in one of the more sexually charged lesbian love scenes ever to be filmed.

When Petra is forced to leave town, Camille is faced with the life decision of either leaving everything or returning back to her safe world.

An unbelievable ending caps the drama.

The film's handling of the relationship is both exciting and hopeful, conditions which are much too rare in the typical films which tackle queer love.
