WIGSTOCK: THE MOVIE

The boisterously, unabashedly, campy, uninhibitedly costumed cross-dressing Labor Day extravaganza known as Wigstock is captured in all its sequined and tacky glory in this spirited documentary.

Recorded during the 1993 event in Tompkins Square Park and the 1994 affair held on a West Village pier, we get a behind-the-scenes, as well as an on-stage, look at the fabulously frocked organisers, the surprisingly professional performers, as well as the thoughts from its entranced audience.

The Lady Bunny is the regal MC and the performers include RuPaul, Joey Arias, Lipsinka, Mistress Formika, the Duelling Bankheads and acting as our pseudo-tour guides, Alexis Arquette (as his alter ego, Eva Destruction) and Jackie Beat.
