Expectations
By: Michele Alvarez

I sit and I pray,
I can handle another day.
Living in the shadows of others,
Trying to get to the expectation of my mother.
Having them all look down on me.
Wondering if I'll ever be,
As good as they are,
But where I'm standing It seems very far.

A Poem For Daddy
By: Michele Alvarez

Daddy, why did you have the affair?
You made your lives impossible, daddy,
That wasn't very fair.
I used to be your little girl, daddy,
And now you don't even have a care.
I used to love softball, daddy,
But now I just watch and stare.
Watching them, daddy,
Have the life I wish was still there.

Did You Love Me?
By: Kylee Hayden

Did you see me?
My eyes danced around like a flash in the night
Did you hear me?
My heart fluttered by you then quickly took flight
Did you feel me?
I grinned like a child as i clasped to your hand
Did you know me?
This wild pixie beauty of a faraway land
Did you taste me?
The honeydew drops as they dripped on your tongue
Did you love me?
This beautiful song that will never be sung.

Vanish
By: Brandon Schmidt

Sitting,
Thinking of things
to do,
to say,
thoughts to invoke
as way to silence the embodyment
of this elastic illusion

Quietly observing-
the blandness
the holliness
the voices
the words they speak
the fall of mighty figures

Calmly
I preceive with grace
and dignity
a way to
vanish
from this picture.
A Thing Called Love
By: Brandon Schmidt

I could feel your touch
 run quivers up my spine
Undress me, Caress me,
 see what you can find

Look inside me,
 what do you reveal
My heart is beating faster,
 as my body remains still

Tickle me, whisper in my ear,
 tell me what you feel
I gaze into your eyes,
and pray that this is real

For this has consumed me,
as the clouds and stars above
What is this mighty connection?
Its this thing I call love :)
