I remember being a little girl, cuddling & talking in the snake pit for hours.

YOU SHOWED ME AFFECTION

I remember when you'd take me out for my "Special Day"
& we'd play pinball, drink Shirley Temples & shop for "Kristie Renee" shirts

YOU SHOWED ME HAPPINESS

I remember when I called you from school crying because a bully was going to beat me up.
You told me to stick up for myself. Instead of rescuing me, you came to cheer me on.

YOU SHOWED ME DIGNITY

I remember stealing jewlery as a present for you from the local drug store & you made me
take it back & apologize - even though I cried all the way.

YOU SHOWED ME INTEGRITY

I remember when I was young & we stayed up all night. We ran outside in the middle
of the night to laugh & dance together in the rain.

YOU SHOWED ME CREATIVITY

I remember when you'd force yourself to go to work even when I would stand at the
door & cry for you.

YOU SHOWED ME RESPONSIBILITY

I remember walking into Freeman with you by my side. I was so proud to tell all that
would listen - This is my MOM!

YOU SHOWED ME PRIDE

I remember when you'd pack me & 10 of my closest friends in the Sunbird & take us all skating.

YOU SHOWED ME ADVENTURE

I remember watching you bathe, shower, curl your hair & put on make-up. I wanted to
be just like you when I grew up.

YOU SHOWED ME SELF PRIDE

I remember when my teacher embarrassed me & told me not to wear my "FOXY LADY"
shirt to school again. You told me to wear it anyway & that you'd stick up for me.

YOU SHOWED ME INDIVIDUALITY

I remember how, no matter what we did wrong, we'd be in less trouble if we told the truth.

YOU SHOWED ME HONESTY

I remember when we were small, you raising us alone, & sticking by us no matter what.

YOU SHOWED ME STRENGTH

I remember when I cried to you with my pimple-stricken face & I confessed to eating most
of the candy bars I was supposed to sell. You let me worry overnight & gave me the money the
next day to pay the debt.

YOU SHOWED ME ACCOUNTABILITY

I remember you encouraging us to do whatever our hearts desired & making us truly
beleive that we could do anything if we tried hard enough.

YOU SHOWED ME CONFIDENCE

I remember when I was Homecoming Queen & looking over to the sidelines & seeing you & Dad
standing there with ear to ear smiles & video taping every moment.

YOU SHOWED ME ADORATION

Reading this you can see all the important things you showed me.
But this is really to thank you for sharing with me
the most important thing of all.

You always showed me LOVE
