Election
(1999, 103 min,
United States, Alexander Payne)
This is a very smart satire looking at the way high schools function as well as how you get ahead in life. Tracy Flick (played wonderfully by Reese Witherspoon) is the one who will likely be voted most likely to succeed. Jim McAllister (Matthew Broderick, who's now on the other side of the classroom from his Ferris Bueller days) is the head of the student body. This year's class election is nothing but without controversy. No one wants to run against Tracy since they know they'll lose. Paul Metzler (Chris Klein), a football jock injured from playing a gay, gets persuaded to run. His rebel sister Tammy (Jessica Campbell) shocks him by running against him as well after her girlfriend dumps her for her brother. -- David Hua Source : Obtained from QCinema.com |
