Notes

[T1] Although the 1900 Texas Census, shows her birthyear to be 1889, we feel that
the family records are accurate in stating it to be 1890, as is proven by the
death records and the date on the tombstone.

[T2] Sidney served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from February 28, 1941 until his
death, when he was killed in action over Krefield, Germany. He is buried in a
British cemetery at Gladbach, Germany. He was a flight lieutenant and never
married.

[T3] All sources state that he first married Agnes Crawford, second to Nancy
Griffiths. But two wills found listed in an index of Abstracts of Wills,
Inventories, and Administrations Accounts, Frederick Co., Va., by King, proves
that Agnes Crawford had to have been the second wife.

[T7] After settling in Perth Amboy, NJ, he went to New York City and married Barbara
Hume.

[T8] Both of her parents died en route to America of the plague. Upon her arrival
to America, she went to New York City to live with an uncle.

[T13] It is not known just when he came to America, but it was probably before 1790.
A James Jones is listed as the head of a household in the 1790 Virginia Census.
He was living in Gloucester County, in Kingston Parish, and on James Hubbard's
list. This is the same locality as his wife's family.

[T19] Degge family records say he married Mildred Fox, although Fox family records
say he married Mary, her sister. It is possible that he was married to both of
them.

[T23] Added information from Marlyn Lewis, 9-23-92

[T24] He was the 2nd Lord DeLaWarr.

[T25] He had a son, William West that was adopted by his uncle, Sir Thomas West.
There is no other record of George West. Sir Thomas West, the 9th Baron,
Knight Bt. and Knight of the Garter. He married Elizabeth, daughter of John
Bouville, Knight. They had no children, but they adopted his nephew, William,
son of his half-brother, Sir George West
