CATS and the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria
Assoc. Symposium (HBIGDA)

Wednesday, October 31 from 7 to 10 PM the HBIGDA Reception and Halloween Party will take place at the San Louis Hotel in Galveston.

You will have an opportunity to meet and speak with doctors, therapists and legal experts in the field of gender and gender dysphoria from all over the world.
The tickets will cost $25 at the door.

However, CATS has purchased 30 tickets and will make them available to the community FOR FREE. If you are struggling financially and would not otherwise be able to afford this opportunity, contact CATS at tghelp@tghelp.org or at
281-585-8089.

(Please… we could only afford to purchase 30 tickets…if you can honestly afford to purchase your own, please do. If your financial situation would honestly prevent you from attending don't hesitate to call!)

There will also be a Community Forum meeting at the Trinity Episcopal Church Friday, November 2 from 6 to 8 PM. This is FREE and open to our community. The
moderators of this forum will be Jude Patton (MSW) and Dr. Shelia Kirk (OB-GYN). Also present will be Dr. Louis Gooren (endocrinologist), Dr. Eugene Schrang
(SRS surgeon), Dr. Stan Monstrey, Dr. Anne Lawrence (Internal Medicine), Stephen Whittle (Attorney), Dr. Walter Meyer (Director of Gender Treatment Program,
UTMB) and Eli Coleman (President of Harry Benjamin Society).

CATS & Remembering Our Dead

Last year, Gwen Smith called on organizations across the world to participate in Remembrance. Once again, the call has gone out and Houston is responding in several ways.

This year Community Awareness for Transgender Support (CATS) will mount a poster campaign as well as honor two individuals who have significantly contributed to breaking the cycle of hate, ignorance and violence. CATS will honor and give thanks to Phyllis Frye and Ray Hill Wednesday, November 7 at La Strada (322 Westheimer, Houston) for their long years of devotion to the community and it's people.

If you would like to learn more about Remembering Our Dead or would like to attend the free event honoring Phyllis and Ray, call 281-585-8089.
