Regardless of one's opinion of the gay-lesbian lifestyle, it's refreshing to see that the black-and-white rule of law has prevailed over moral relativism.
The Rev. Greg Dell was found guilty of disobedience in performing a homosexual marriage, in violation of Methodist church law. Dell said he was faced with a dilemma in wanting to minister to all people, despite this rule banning same-sex marriage. How did he solve the dilemma? He made a conscious decision to break the law. How convenient! How frightening, however, to contemplate a society in which we are free to bend or break a law that gets in the way of our personal opinion.
There must be adherence to rules or there will be a breakdown of society. Rev. Dell did commit the act in question, was found guilty, and must now comply with church law, or face the consequences.
