Theodore Kaczynski, who was titled as "The Unabomber" by the F.B.I., wrote in his manifesto of "Industrial Society and Its Future,"

can't make any conjectures as to the results, because it is impossible
to guess how such machines might behave. We only point out that the
fate of the human race would be at the mercy of the machines. It might
be argued that the human race would never be foolish enough to hand
over all the power to the machines. But we are suggesting neither that
the human race would voluntarily turn power over to the machines nor
that the machines would willfully seize power. What we do suggest is
that the human race might easily permit itself to drift into a position
of such dependence on the machines that it would have no practical
choice but to accept all of the machines decisions. As society and the
problems that face it become more and more complex and machines become
more and more intelligent, people will let machines make more of their
decision for them, simply because machine-made decisions will bring
better result than man-made ones. Eventually a stage may be reached at
which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so
complex that human beings will be incapable of making them
intelligently. At that stage the machines will be in effective control.
People won't be able to just turn the machines off, because they will
be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide
(Kaczynski, 1995)." |
Since 1994, I have maintained the only website that freely disseminates information to anyone who asked about the workings and processes of hypnosis, and have remained the only "volunteer hypnotist" on the World Wide Web throughout this past decade. To substantiate this claim, all one would have to do is to go to Google.com and search for the word "Hypnotist" (figure 1 (Google.com, 2005)):

In the spring of 2005, on a website located via Scrypnosis.com, which I own, I placed an Adobe PDF file copy of what had been the most current working copy of the book so that people could see the approaching final copy. That book is called, The Future's Toolkit. As of December, 2005, I was made available at a print-on-demand website located at:

In the original book manuscript's version, I had three sections, each of which had been an individual book that I'd once started and, being that I have attention deficiency disorder and dyslexia, have taken a long to get to their most current unfinished formats, so I simply merged three documents.
I started seriously paying attention to internet market research when I paid TheCounter.com, from 1999 to 2002, to track hits to my site to determine a user's location on the planet based on domain. I rationalized this data will be used in the marketing of the book and of future book lecturing tours, based on the information gathered (figure 3 (TheCounter.com, 2002)).

What was most interesting about the data related in figure 3 is the fact that even though I was not advertising my website, people from all over the planet were searching for information about hypnosis, even from countries where there was minimal, if any, internet service. The demand for knowledge certainly substantiated the concept that the core market for my book's audience is universal and not simply in the United States.
From 1999 to this very day, I had a data counter, provided by Geocities (figure 4 (Geocities, 2006)), tracking page loads. This related cumulative totals for each page of the website. In the creation of the book, these pieces of data to determine demand for topics based on the pages requested by visitors, which allowed me to note which chapters in the book needed more explanation and detail as there was extensive and proven readership for those pages.

Before beginning the 2005 summer term's class of
Marketing 511 Advanced Marketing Research, I contacted StatCounter.com
and placed a new data counter on scrypnosis.com's primary web
page. I wanted to see from where in the world people most
recently were coming to visit this site, how long (in actual elapsed
time) their individual visits were, and what pages (or topics) these
users were they primarily interested. StatCounter.com's service was free for only the last 100 hits to a website, and being a college student of disability income, I have been forced to use free services, so I've had to manually track data on a weekly basis if not more.

I only tracked the main web page because all other pages on the site routed to it. As one can see from the hit from Texas, the person came to this page from another of my website's pages, that being the hypnosis to multiple orgasms page (h2orgasm.htm), which, as Figure 4 relates, is one of my most popular web pages.
Initially, every page of the how-to portion of the book existed, at some point in time, on the website. But as I began the rewrite, I realized that what was needed was not a book on hypnosis suggestions, but an appendix of pieces from which a user could compile such process, while the actual book could relate the logical processes that drove me to create such a book and why it was so vitally important that everyone read and utilize this book.
As this semester progressed and as advanced copy readers, such as Chicago-based motivational speaker Philippe Matthews (figure 6), sections of the book were moved. Mr. Matthews read the copy which was still of the three-section format, but after the full analysis of the data, the How-To section was placed at the end of the book, and the section on the What and Why processes of logic moved to the front, while the third section, which was on my birth defect of being XXY with Klinefelter's Syndrome, was removed from the text entirely.

By utilizing market research data from a variety of tracking sources, I developed a basis for a rewrite and reformatting of the entire book, which took place between August and December, 2005.
If and when every human being utilizes this book in its current format, their adaption to this logic and process into their daily lives will nullify the fears of Mr. Kaczynski, for humans will do something they have not done in thousands of years. Humans will evolve, intellectually, and force computers back into submission, for computers will have to be retooled and recalibrated to integrate with neural interface controls that allow humans to think their controlling commands at the computers, and force computers to use hyper-speak text-to-speech technology to talk back to us, for we are the dominating intellectual force and must remain so for all time.
The use of marketing data was therefore invaluable in refining this book as the cost of obtaining and maintaining such data collection was very low (Aaker,2004). It thus allowed this new market to emerge with relatively low overhead, availing growth for small businesses in a global economy. Therefore, this book would not have come to be in its final format without the active use and attention paid to internet marketing research.
