John Grisham
Stephen King
After reading "The Client", I was hooked. This lawyer turned author keeps you in suspense with his writing. Besides, he's pretty cute too.
Bret Easton Ellis
The master of macabre. So many of his books have been made into movies. The movies did no justice to his books. "Carrie", "It", etc. scared me out of the seat of my pants. Ever wonder what goes through his mind while he's writing?
I love this author's style of writing ("Less Than Zero", "Rules of Attraction", etc. It's so trendy and so modern. He writes in such a Generation Xer style that is easy to relate to.

These are six of my favorite books.
"Cry, The Beloved Country"
by Alan Paton
"Nectar In A Sieve"
by Kamala Markandaya
"American Psycho"
by Bret Easton Ellis
I have to thank Mrs. Sailor again for introducing me to this book. This book about a man struggling with aparheid in South Africa was another emotionally gripping book.
I have to thank my high school English teacher, Mrs. Sailor, for introducing me to this book. This book was so emotionally gripping about the life of an East Indian woman.
Oh my goodness! This controversial book about a yuppie serial killer was denounced by the National Organization for Women (NOW). I couldn't believe how graphically detailed this book was written. This book is written in first person and details what goes on inside a serial killers mind.
"Alive"
by Piers Paul Read
"Silence of the Lambs"
by Thomas Harris
"The Chronicles of Narnia"
by C.S. Lewis
The story of the Andes surivors was a very chilling tale especially since it was a true story. It made me think of "what would I do in that similar situation". Those brave souls endured so much during their ordeal. Trust me, the book was much better than the movie.
One of my favorite book series from my childhood still remains on my favorites. This fantasy about children entering another world still brings back great memories. Even though these books were made for children, they are great reading for adults.
One of the few books that I read after seeing the movie. The movie was so good that I had to read the book. I enjoyed the book a little better but unlike most books-turned-movies, the movie came close to the book. One of the scariest books that I have read in a long time. Who could ever forget Hannibal Lector?
