Music for as long as I remember has always been one of my favorite hobbies. When I was in Junior High, my friends used to call me Mr. Top 40 because I would always be kept up with the charts. They used to say that I would be another Casey Kasem when I grew up. When I watch "Rock-N-Roll Jeopardy" on VH-1, I wish that I was a contestant. I have over 1000 cd's in my collection. I guess I'm a cd-a-holic. I love all genres of music. I have very ecclectic tastes. I like everything from pop to country, disco to classical, techno to rock, alternative to rap (well, you get the picture). So if you have a music trivia question that you need answered, maybe I can help.
Here are the TOP 12 albums that I personally find to be the greatest of all-time! As you can see, there definately is a mix!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this album since high school when I was a "bat-caver" (nowadays it's all "gothic"). The bass lines used throughout the album are so catchy. The lyrical stylings of Andrew Eldritch (lead singer) has a very low style in a way has an evil sound.
One of the greatest bands of all-time. Jim Morrison was a lyrical genius. Everytime I listen to this album, it reminds of how much impact and influence they had on other modern day bands.

One of my favorite albums from my childhood. Donna Summer is still the Queen of Disco in my opinion. Her songs are so infectious that I can help shake my butt everytime I hear them.
Alanis blew up the charts with her debut album. It spent most of the year on top of the charts and is the biggest selling debut album of all-time. I really liked this album because the feelings she coveyed through her lyrics were easy to identify with.

I just love this woman. My favorite country singer. Her voice is so wonderful. Most of her songs deal with love and I think that is why I love them so much. I'm such a hopeless romantic.
Yes, I do like some rap music :-). Though rap isn't my favorite genre, this album rocks! Everytime I stick this in my cd player, I always jam to the beats even though I don't understand a word that they are saying.

The best female songwriter of all-time. In my opinion, she's one of the best. Her songs off of this album have been covered by artists of all genres. An homage was paid to this album a few years ago with "Tapestry: Revisited". Musicians of all genres recorded a remake of this album (it was a pretty good album also). Michael Jackson became the King of Pop off of this album. It truly is a great album. The songs are so catchy. No wonder why this album is the best selling of all-time. Almost every song off of this album was released as a single and made the top 10. Too bad he has never been able to match it's success.

year: 1971
favorite track: "It's Too Late"
album: "Thriller"

My favorite folk album. I loved this album upon the first listen to it. The social commentary of each song was exactly how I felt. I love listening to this album while going on a long drive. It's very relaxing.
These bad boys from Los Angeles made one kick ass album. This is the first heavy metal group that I have ever gotten into. The wailing of Axl Rose is great! This is one adrenaline pumping record!
album: "Appetite For Destruction"
artist: Guns-N-Roses
year: 1987
favorite track: "Sweet Child O' Mine"
album: "Tracy Chapman"
artist: "Tracy Chapman"

Roxy Music was a big influence on a lot the eighties "wave" bands such as Duran Duran, a-ha, etc. They were even a big influence on contemporary artists like Sarah McLachlan. Bryan Ferry's voice is so ethereal. I had to think long and hard about having to pick my favorite album. I had pick this album. Prince (or The Artist Formerly Known As Prince) is a musical genius hands down.
