Interesting info...

Here in this section i will tell you about things which are interesting for me and hopefully will interest you too! Although i live in Moscow, i count St. Petersburg as my favorite town! Not only because my mom lives there and i met my first Love there.. This city charms and enchants with some internal romanticism innate only to it. Many people will say that St Petersburg is a grimy city. One can agree, but maybe the charm itself is encompassed exactly in it!

There is one very unusual book, written by K.K. Rotikov, "Another Petersburg", a kind of estetical and literature game, which intrigues a reader with unusual associations, turns of plot and discoveries. This book can be treated as an original tourist guide and as an singular addition to the myphology of St. Petersburg. Reader can see from unexpected point of view not only famous, but also undeservedly forgotten figures of russian history and culture. All the book is in fact an anthology of gay Peterburg from beginning of XIX century until now. The author collected carefully little-known facts of private life of well-known people of culture, art, politics of that time. For example, homosexual likes of N. Gogol' are discussed, of minister of education S. Uvarov, of head of Synode K. Pobedonoscev, about passionate relations between S. Esenin and N. Klyuev, about youth passions of Yu. Lermontov, about relations of Peter I and A. Men'shikov, and many others. Some pages of book are dedicated to description of "hot" places of St. Petersburg of that time, bath houses, where gays used to meet, restaurants, salons...
